How will my data be stored?
All the information we gather from you in this research will be completely private. You won't be identifiable in any reports or publications. Your information will be anonymous and safely stored according to UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). It will be on the University of Hull’s secure OneDrive cloud storage. Only specific researchers at the University of Hull will have access to this data. The website doesn’t collect any personal data from you.
How will my data be used?
We expect to publish the project's results within 18 months. Everyone who took part in the survey can request to see the published article. The University of Hull's Energy and Environment Institute is doing this research. It's funded partly by the UKRI through the Hull Impact and Knowledge Exchange (HIKE) Acceleration Account and partly funded by Defra as part of the £200 million Flood and Coastal Innovation Programmes which is managed by the Environment Agency. The programmes will drive innovation in flood and coastal resilience and adaptation to a changing climate.
Can I ask for my data to be deleted?
Yes, your photo and its data won't be used for at least two weeks after you submit it. During this time, you can email sudslabuk@hull.ac.uk with your unique code to withdraw your consent. If you do, we'll delete your photo and all related information. After two weeks, your photo might be part of the main dataset and used in published materials. If you withdraw consent later, we can still delete your original data, but it might not be possible to remove it from already published combined data.
